It’s time for me to share about two topics that are near and dear to my heart and those are depression and anxiety. The reason I say they are near and dear to my heart is that they lived alongside me in my life for a while. I learned a lot about how and why they exist. Depression sneaks in your life and can control it. As hard as they were to conquer I do not take for granted any experience all good and bad that has happened to me because I would not be who I am today if these things did not help mold me.
What I am going to share with you today my friends is solely based on my personal experience with depression and anxiety. Specifically, I am going to share and suggest to you five things to do when depression and anxiety start to kick in. Now I am sharing this information based on my personal experience and the things that worked for me.
5 Things to do to Conquer your day when Depression Sneaks In
I am the type of person that strives to discover what a problem is so I can get to a solution. And I also very realistic to know that sometimes that may take several rounds. Everything isn’t solved overnight. Oftentimes it may seem as though the same type of life situations, journeys, obstacles, and challenges are on repeat and it takes time to be able to find out what the root of a problem may be. Then it can still take time to find and develop a solution that works based on who you are as an individual. But the key is to not give up. Don’t stop peeling back the layers to unveil what is the root of the problem, because it is there.
These tips I am going to share with you today are suggestions to things you can try to take back control of your day when you start to feel depression or anxiety sneak in. When you don’t feel like getting out of bed when you aren’t motivated to do anything. These are tips you can apply even when you feel like there is no way from under the heavyweight of emotions that depression can dump on you. These simple yet powerful tips are the exact thing that I did (as well as talk to a therapist) that helped me to rebuild my strength and reset my eyes on the real prize, living a fulfilled life.
If you are someone who is dealing with depression or anxiety or if you know someone that is dealing with depression and anxiety, don’t hide, seek help because it truly can give you that extra support that you may need. There is no guilt nor shame in reaching out for help. There are so many resources and therapies that are created for people just like you and me who need an extra hand to guide you through. Lean into these resources, they can help you tremendously.
Depression and Anxiety do not have to rule your life. You have the strength within you, to work it out and I believe you can make it through and live a happy, fulfilled life.
