When is the last time you did a gut check on your authentic presence online? The importance of the information that you put out into the world should not go without attention and care or what I like to call, intention. Actually, you should be very intentional in the things that you share with your friends, family, and community.
Why is it so important? Because people are easily influenced by today’s world of social media sharing. There are people in each of our online communities who look up to the information that is being shared. And believe it or not, you have an impact on others’ lives when you share things online. Because quality information is soaked up like a sponge so you want to make sure what you share is authentic as you.
How to Create and Maintain your Authentic Presence Online
Since it seems as though everyone has a profile online it can seem very overwhelming to find a place to feel comfortable and yourself. We are being pumped with so much information non stop every single day. Things like, what’s trending, popular, what everyone else is doing, wearing and buying, and so on. How do you know what content to create that is aligned with your authentic self and makes you stand out for simply being yourself?
I believe what is the most important thing is to stay focused on what really matters. Taking ownership of showing up with goodness in mind and putting more of it out into the world both social and face to face. You should not get caught up with the comments, likes, follower counts REGARDLESS of what other social media marketing schemes (and marketers) will tell you.
Staying true to who you are and what you want to share with the world will oftentimes look a lot different from what the majority are doing, and that’s okay.
When you take control of the content that you share with others it becomes easier and easier to share it. There are times it will be tempting to do what the majority is doing and, not to say it’s a bad thing but make sure it is something that is aligned with who you are and what you want to share with the world.
Because you are creating an impact and you want it to be good. There are a few things I like to ask clients when I am talking to them about sharing what is authentic to them. If you already have an online presence you may be wondering how to keep the wheels? Or you may be feeling the need become more purposeful in your social media sharing you.
